The Board Game was a leadership development training and matching program for nonprofit board service in San Antonio, Texas. The Board Game trained nonprofit leaders on best practices in board development and recruited San Antonians, with a focus on people of color and people under the age of 40, to learn how to successfully apply and serve on a nonprofit board. At the end of the training, community members were matched to board openings based on their areas of expertise and the needs of the nonprofit. In three years, 325 community members were matched to more than 90 nonprofit boards.
